Our Team

Steven Sovinsky

Steven Sovinsky is the founder of the firm, now semi-retired. He has built up significant experience in small business planning and tax compliance. He received his BBA from the University of Michigan in 1973, with distinction. Steve started practicing accounting when he interned and subsequently worked for a large regional accounting firm in Ann Arbor that later became part of Deloitte & Touche. Steve also worked for a local CPA firm, where he was acquainted with DeMaria Building Company, Inc. In 1979 he became controller for the company, where he remained for fourteen years. In 1993 Steve started his own accounting firm. His experience in the private industry complements his CPA role for the benefit of his small business clients.

CPA JJ

James Sovinsky

James (JJ) Sovinsky is the president and sole owner of the firm. JJ is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in Michigan. He worked as an analyst in financial reporting for The Taubman Company and previously worked for KPMG in their audit practice. He received his BBA from the University of Michigan-Dearborn in accounting and finance, with high distinction. JJ is working toward Masters of Scince in Taxation at Walsh.

Shawn Little-Taugher - Bookkeeper/Office Manager

Shawn has 35 years bookkeeping experience. She has working knowledge with manual bookkeeping methods as well as QuickBooks. She also handles payroll for several clients including all tax reporting. Shawn is familiar with a variety of industries (medical, construction trades, financial, advertising, childcare). She is well versed in accounts receivable/payable, journal entries, bank reconciliations and payroll. Shawn is available to perform daily bookkeeping services or monthly, semi-annual or annual account analysis as client needs dictate. Shawn owns her own firm under the name Taugher, Inc.
